Helpful tips for registration

  • Course planning began on March 21st. Access your thesis exam in EZ Arts when meeting with your advisors.
  • to register for your artistic and humanities lessons at the same time as possible. During the registration periods you can enter the system as often as you like. When making changes, you must be careful not to fall below full-time student status at all times. If necessary, consult with your advisors when making changes to your schedule.
  • Full-time registration obligation. Unless approved by the dean of your art school, you must enroll for at least 12 credits as an undergraduate or 9 credits as a graduate student. Start at your art school to apply to attend a part-time job. A new permit is required for each semester in which you wish to study less than full-time.
  • maximum credit rule. The University of North Carolina’s system policy requires that students who wish to enroll for more than 18 credit hours in a regular semester must obtain approval from the dean of their program. Contact your art school for approval to exceed 18 credits. Students may not exceed 21 credits in a semester for any reason. The maximum number of credit hours for the summer session is 6.
  • Variable credit courses you must enter the number of credits when registering for the course. If you register for an incorrect number of credits, go to Add or Remove Classes and change the credits. Be sure to save the change.
  • Requirements. EZ Arts will not allow you to enroll in a course unless you have met the prerequisite. Occasionally the system does not recognize a transfer course as a prerequisite. In this case, contact your advisor.
note: If you do not successfully complete a course that serves as a prerequisite for a future backed course, you may be removed from the backed course.
  • Independent learning. A staff member at your art school or liberal arts department will sign you up for independent study. Only a full-time faculty member can oversee an independent study. A contract is required.
  • Limitation on Class Withdrawals. Students cannot withdraw more than 16 credits during their studies. For this reason, you should distribute your requirements accordingly. UNCSA offers online courses in the summer.
  • account failures. You cannot register if you have an account suspension. Check and release account suspensions in EZ Arts in advance to avoid being disqualified from desired courses.
