SPIRE Names Lacrosse Legend Kyle Harrison as Brand Ambassador and Consultant

Geneva, Ohio — SPIRE Institute & Academy has officially announced that lacrosse athlete and entrepreneur Kyle Harrison will join Team SPIRE as a brand ambassador and advisor for the athletic academy’s newly created lacrosse program. Harrison is one of the most accomplished and successful lacrosse players of all time, with an academic and professional career spanning more than 20 years.

Harrison is one of the most recognized and influential names in the sport. He is a nine-time All-Star and a two-time US National Team member. During his college career, Kyle was a three-time NCAA All-American at Johns Hopkins University. During his 2005 senior season, he led the Blue Jays to an undefeated record and won the NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse Championship. He also took home the 2005 Tewaaraton Award for the best player in all of college lacrosse and was inducted into the Johns Hopkins Athletics Hall of Fame in 2016. Harrison’s impact at SPIRE will extend well beyond his role as ambassador. Its established team eighteen Programs will bring top players to SPIRE to take advantage of world-class training facilities and resources and generate more exposure for the athletic academy’s lacrosse program, which is slated to debut later in 2022. He will support SPIRE by bringing camps and clinic events to campus and connecting athletes and the lacrosse community to SPIRE via social media.

Kyle’s background gives him a unique insight into the skills he will rely on to represent SPIRE and help develop the lacrosse program. “Johns Hopkins University gave me the foundation I need to excel at SPIRE including time management, prioritization, work ethic, goal setting, Sacrifice and commitment to the team. These are the life skills that SPIRE students learn every day and I would have loved the opportunity to learn them in high school.”

Led by Harrison and directed by SPIRE’s Director of Lacrosse, Lelan Rogers, SPIRE will be able to develop the training programs and momentum to excel its student-athletes and the academy itself in one of the nation’s fastest growing sports. SPIRE’s unique Academy model goes far beyond a boarding school. Everything needed to enable lacrosse students to excel academically and athletically is available on their 500-acre campus, including performance training, customized meal programs and more.

The addition of influential and respected athletes like Harrison ushers in SPIRE’s new era of continued expansion and growth. Alongside newly announced sports offerings such as wrestling, which will launch in 2021, and an upcoming women’s basketball academy, lacrosse is a key element in SPIRE’s continued development as an elite international sports academy.

Reflecting on the future of the lacrosse program at SPIRE, Lelan Rogers states, “My vision for our lacrosse team is to find student-athletes with the highest qualities of character and leadership that will make SPIRE Lacrosse one of the premier programs in the country will make a very short time. Student-athletes who seek both individual and team development will be the foundation of our academy and our lacrosse program.”


The SPIRE Institute & Academy is a comprehensive academic, athletic, personal skills and career development program housed in a world-class events and wellness complex.
