A safe community shelter for pregnant women who lack adequate support, with advice and instruction in infant care, childbirth and valuable life skills to prepare them for a healthy pregnancy and birth. Women can stay up to four months after giving birth, during which time the program helps them transition to work or school and home. It also connects them to other support offerings like food stamps and general help. Home visits teach parenting skills.

GENERAL RESOURCES
Catholic parishes
Most parishes in Hawaii have outreach ministries, many of which provide food, clothing, and baby items to new moms.
Hiking with mothers in need
This is a nationwide initiative created by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops to encourage the nation’s parishes to “walk with mothers in need” by identifying local pregnancy support resources in their parishes who are currently serving one woman available with a difficult pregnancy.
Knights of Columbus
This fraternal organization of Catholic men raises money to support pregnancy resource centers and pro-life initiatives.
Diocesan Respect Life Office
Provides communities with information and resources to develop and support activities that support a culture of life, including life advocacy and natural family planning. It also provides post-abortion counseling and spiritual support through programs such as Rachel’s Vineyard and Project Rachel.
